Calderdale Parents and Carers Council has a clear social purpose:

To work together with the families and carers of disabled children and young people to create positive change in their daily lives.

Already serving the families of over 300 disabled children and young people, we want to build upon our reputation as one of the leading parent-led networks in the UK.

We are now looking for exceptional people to join us and lead the organisation through the next stages of growth and development.

So, how would you help us do it?

Our new three-year strategic direction has been mapped out and the pillars of this strategy are:

  • Making a positive impact for all the families that engage with our services
  • Serving the families of at least 500 children and young people with disabilities within Calderdale
  • Improving sustainability, doubling our turnover via funding, contracting and trading
  • Delivering operational excellence in order to meet our aims
  • Empowering and engaging parents and carers via volunteering, employment and external representation activities
  • Widening our reach to influence policy and decision making in our area of work

Our Board of Trustees meet quarterly to discuss our Committees’ recommendations.

The Committees are:

  • Strategic Development
  • Services Development
  • Communications & Engagement
  • Human Resources
  • Finance

Each Committee meets quarterly. Terms of reference for each group are available on request.

You will find a team that is committed to the social purpose and keen to improve all they do. We are seeking people with the ability to go on a journey that will demand change within the organisation if we are to realise our aims.

We’re excited about the different perspectives that people will bring to these roles. What we will want to know is how you can show us your track record and how you would bring your skills, experiences and character to the role.

If you want to be part of making a massive difference to the quality of life for so many families, then please get in touch to find out more on 01422 343090 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
