Your chance to become Mystery Shoppers at Eureka! The National Children’s Museum

Eureka! The National Children’s Museum is looking for children with disabilities and their families to act as Mystery Shoppers within the museum, ahead of the launch of their new project Helping Hands.

Funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, this innovative project will provide a unique approach to engaging with disabled children and their families. The project, which will run for 3 years, aims to take Eureka! beyond just physical accessibility, by making it a friendly, welcoming and easy place for families and groups bringing a child with a disability to visit, enjoy and explore.

The project will include disability awareness training for all staff in partnership with the Calderdale Parents and Carers Council, specialist clubs and an opportunity for disabled children and their families to influence the programming of these new activities and contribute to gallery developments.

The feedback from the mystery shoppers will provide the starting point for staff training and an accessibility audit of the museum.  We would like to invite families who haven’t visited the museum before or who haven’t visited within the last year to take part.  In return for filling in a questionnaire based on your visit, you will receive a free entry and a free annual pass to Eureka! for you and your family.

Get Involved

We always need people to volunteer, be it helping us with mailshots, telephone surveys, being on focus groups or Boards, representing parents views, helping out at events, doing the washing up! shifting furniture! or being a member of our committee.

We particularly welcome parents who have business experience at this moment in time, but a wide range of skills are needed to make us successful.

If you have been thinking about volunteering and would like any more information about how you can get involved please do contact us at the office on 01422 343090.

We look forward to working with you!
